The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it is alarmed with regards to the large range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area each day. The assistance issue produced for intervention encounters a substantial inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise sassa much more sources to allow the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
